Michele Cossyro’s Black Holes

At a time when the world awakens to the news that the actual existence of “gravitational waves” has been demonstrated, a hundred years after Albert Einstein theorized and predicted them in his theory of general relativity, it comes as almost no surprise that art, just like science, has its harbingers of things to come. I am referring to the work of Michele Cossyro, who never ceases to amaze by the anticipatory value of his sculptural research into particularly original and surprising forms, evoking the awesome phenomena that modern and then contemporary physics has been investigating for some time. I Black Holes di Michele Cossyro

In questi giorni in cui si dà l’annuncio al mondo intero del rilevamento dell’esistenza reale delle ‘onde gravitazionali’, cento anni dopo che Albert Einstein le aveva teorizzate e predette con la teoria generale della relatività, non sorprende quasi poter constatare che anche l’arte, come la scienza, ha le sue antenne premonitrici. E mi riferisco alle opere di Michele Cossyro, di cui non ci si stanca di stupirsi per la valenza anticipatrice delle sue ricerche plastiche rivolte a forme particolarmente originali e sorprendenti per l’evocazione di impressionanti fenomeni di cui prima la fisica moderna  e successivamente quella contemporanea si sta da tempo occupando.
